The championship was taken by Mr J. Johns Lord Salisbury. There was a large entry of Ayrshires, in which entry K. B. Fergusson (Oamaru) was the principal prizetaker. In fat cattle the fact of arrangements having been made by which the exhibits may be shipped ahve to the London market induced a large entry of prime beef animals, of which those shown by Messrs G. E. Rhodes and D. Rutherford attracted much attention. There was a representative entry m milking classes, but the competition is not to be decided till to morrow, ln draught horses some fine animals were shown, but a number of classes were poorly represented. The draught mares were by far the best class. J. C. Shearer, Ashburton, took first prize and championship for his mare, Flora McDonald. W. Boag's Middlerigg was the champion entire. The light horses will be judged to-morrow. There was a magnificent display of implements and farm machinery, and other sections of the show were filled.
