The Perils of the Sea.

THE BARQUE TAMERLANE DISMASTED. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. The barque Tamerlane, which left New* castle for Valapariso on Friday last, has been towed into port completely dismasted and considerably strained. She fell in with the late storm, and those on board had a terrible experience, all the boats being smashed, and the vessel herself had a narrow escape from foundering. Oil was used with great effect during the height of the storm. The cargo will have to be discharged, and the vessel refitted throughout.
