Feilding Football Club.
An extraordinary general meeting of members of the Feilding Football Club was held in the Manchester Hotel last evening, when there was only a small attendance, playing members being conspicious by their absence. There were present — Messrs W. A. L. Bailey (in the chair), A. G. Carty (secretary), E. Goodbehere, S. Strachan, A. C. Matheson, Wilson, P. Giesen and W. Gosling. The meeting was called to consider an offer made by Mr F. Y. Lethhridge to provide a new ground on which to play football next year. That gentleman of fered the use of a piece of ground between the cricket ground and the Sandon road, and promised to plough it up. give drain pipes and sow the graas seed it the club would fence the ground, find labor to pul the pipes in and supply sufficient seed. Mr Lethbridge intends to put a sheep proof fence between the cricket ground and the football field. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Goodbehere, seconded by Mr Strachan, That Mr Lethbridge's offer be accepted and that a very hearty vote of thanks be accorded him for his liberal offer. The secretary reported that there was a credit balance in hand of about 30a with monies due to the club amounting to £4. The estimated cost of the necessary work to the new football ground was about £'17. It was decided to raise the amount required by subscription and those present, with Messrs P. Thomson and O. Cooper, were appointed collectors. The meeting terminated with the usual compliment to the chairman.
