A Steamer Ashore.

The s.s. Monoia, while on her trip from Patea to Wellington, ran aground yesterday tnorning on the Southern Spit of the Rangitikoi river while endeavoring to enter. Owing to the tremendous sea running she was carried folly three chains up tbe beach, nnd at low water lies high and dry. An attempt was to hive been made to get her off last night.
