It was decided to allow the settlers to use section 132, Block XIV, Apiti, as a stock Reserve, Mr London to remove the obstructions he has placed on the section. H. Fox wrote, objecting to take over section 43, Mangaweka, as certain improvements had been removed since purchase. The Commissioner had inquired into the matter during his visit to the locality and on his advise it was decided to inform Mr Fox the Board could not interfere in the matter, but would forego one half-year's rent. It was decided to inform D. J. Munro that his residence on section 3, Block X Hautapu, would be compulsory after four years. J. Mcßean was exempted from residence on section 64, Block XI, Apiti, as long as he resided on the land adjoining. R. Mayhew's non-residence on section 27, West Waitapu, was considered and the question of forfeitute was deferred until next meeting. The cancellation of the following was rescinded ; R. Marsh, section 70, Block XVIII, Mangahao ; J. Roberts, section 16, Block XI, Apiti ; J. Grimes, section 6, Block 11, Omatime. P. Twomey, C. Edwards, L. Ansell, C. Anderson, W. Pilkington, D. O'Connel, and J. McCardle were granted to January to pay rent due. Plans were approved of land to be offered for sale in the Awarua Block ranging in price from 12s 6d to £1. 7s per acre, area 17,000 acres ; and of a block south-east of Moawhaugo ranging from 12s 6d to 27s 6d, about 11,370 acres. The prices stated include 5s for roading.
