The Price of Stock.
[ (Pee Press Association.) ' Gisbobne, November 1. A largely attended meeting of sheep ' farmers was held this afternoon to con* x ' sider the prices received locally for ! stock compared with prices obtained at other places. It was stated that sheep ' farmers were only getting 12s for fat ; sheep, compared with 20s and upwards in the South; and 8s for shorn sheep, compared with 16s quoted elsewhere; | skins locally quoted ss, as against 7s to 1 8s elsewhere. A committee was set up • to enquire into the mattet and report at ; a future meeting.
