Melbourne, Oct. 31 The syndicate receive a further £500 shonld "Wallace win the Derby, and £1500 if he secures tbe Cup. £500 a. 6 to 4 has been accepted about Wallace for fcbe Derby. Oxenham has taken 1000 to 400 tbat his colt, Waterfall, wins the blue riband. Hova has been further supported for the Cup down to 100 to 10. Wallace has been supported at 100 to 9. Delaware is receding, and 100 to 7is offered against him. 1000 to 105 has been taken about Trenchant, 2000 to 80 about Lord Richmond, 1000 to 40 about Auraria and Chesterman, 500 to 20 Dreamland, 500 to 18 Kirkby, 700 to 20 Taranaki, 1000 to 20 Osculator. This was a beautiful morning and the track was fast. Lord Richmond with a fair weight up, covered half a mile in 58£ sec, and then dashed over another mile and a half in 2min 34£ sec. Bruin eclipsed this by a quarter of a second. Delaware and The Trier were associated in a two mile gallop on the tan, the last mile and a half was traversed in 2min 46£ sec. Delaware moved beautifully after a preliminary circuit on tbe tan. Auraria finished in front of Happy Jack in negotiating a concluding mile in Imin 48£ tec. Music badly beat Kirkby over a mile and three quarters in 3min 7sec. Callum Mohr galloped the last mile and a half of the cup distance in 2min 46-J sec. The following are the acceptances for the Derby : — Onward, Wallace, Head On, Auraria, Flintlock, Osculator, Waterfall, Te Whiti, Creme D'Or. Maribyryong Plate— Kobold, Thunder, The Officer, Newhaven, Ariki, Coil, Green Norroy. At Flemins'ton this morning Rewi cleared right away from Te Whiti, covering two miles very satisfactorily in 3min 44sec. At Caulfield, Strahan, with big weight up, traversed the Cup distance well in 3_nin _9£sec. The Possible and Bonnie Scotland were associated over a mile and a half, which wound up comfortably m 2min 42£ sec. Hova is still well backed at 10 to 1, while Delaware has recovered a point. Lord Richmond is supported to the extent of £5000 at 100 to 6. Trenchant has friends at 100 to 7.
