Horse owners are reminded that the nominations for the Feilding J.C. Spring Meeting are due this evening. The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club have raised the salary of their handicapper, Mr J. E. Henry, to £125 per annum.

" Sport " fancies the following for the V.R.C Derby, which is rnn to-morrow : —Waterfall 1, Auraria 2, Wallace 3. Flintlock as an outsider might come out and win, leaving the three first named a big fight for second and third places. " Asmodeus " sends ns the following : — Wallace straight out for Derby and Cup. Tbo result of the V.R.C. Derby will be posted up at tbe Star Office tomorrow, and that of tbe Melbonrne Cup on Tuesday about 6 p.m. We have arranged for these results to be cabled immediately the races are run.
