AN ARISTOCRATIC DIVORCE CASE SHOCKING DEATH OF A DIVER. (Per Press Association.) London, October 29. It is reported that Canada intends to assume the control of the entire Alaskan frontier, and collect the Customs duties. The Duke of Orleans has been joined as co-respondent in the divorce case of I Woolston v Woolston. It is reported that Mr Chamberlain ' approves of a scheme of acquiring territory in North Australia. A scheme vis on foot to establish a Chartered Company, on similar lines to the Chartered Company of South Africa, for the purpose of acquiring territory in Northern Australia. [ New York, Oct. 28. ; A diver named King jumped from the , Poughkeepsie bridge, in the State of ' New York, into the water, a distance of 212 ft, and was killed. I Cairo, October 29. King Menelek of Abyssinia, who was struck by lightening, has recovered. Shanghai, October 28. The Chinese indemnity for the JapanI ese evacuation of the Liatone Peninsula , is to be paid in Japan on November Bth.
