Manawatu Cricket Union.
The Manawatu Cricket Union met in the Manchester Hotel, Feilding, last evening. The following delegates were oresent— Messrs W. Dickson (Feilding), D. Entwisle (Colyton), E. W. Tompkins (Birmingham), J. Coombe (Carnarvon), A. H. Tompkins (secretary), A. G. Carty (treasurer). Mr Carty was voted to the chair. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The fixtures for the season 1895-96 were read as follows : — Nov. 9th — Birmingham v. Carnarvon, at Feilding ; Colyton v. Pohangina, at Pohangina. Nov. 16th — Feilding v. Sanson, at Sanson; Palmerston v. Carnarvon, at Feilding. Nov. 23rd— Pohangina v. Feilding, at Feilding. Nov. 30th— Birmingham v. Sanson, at Feilding. Dec. 7th— Colyton v. Pahnerston, at Feilding. Dec. 14th — Feilding v. Carnarvon, at Feilding ; Birmingham v. Pohangina, at Colyton. Dec. 21st — Colyton v. Sanson, at Feilding. Jan. 11th — Birmingham v. Feilding, at Birmingham ; Pohangina v. Sanson, at Feilding. Jan. 18th — Feilding v. Colyton, at Feilding. Jan. 25th— Birmingham v. Palmerston, at Feilding; Sanson v. Carnarvon, at Carnarvon. Feb. Ist— Palmerston v. Sanson, at Feilding. Feb. Bth— Birmingham v. Colyton, at Colyton; Pohangina y. Carnarvon, at Feilding. Feb. 15th— Feilding v. Palmerston, at Feilding. Feb. 22nd— Palmerston v. Pohangina ; Colyton v. Carnarvon, at Feilding. Resolved, That the fixtures as drawn up by Mr Tompkins be approved, subject to the locality for playing the ColytonPohangina match being left in the hands of the Secretary to deal with. The Secretary of the Zingari (Marton) Club wrote stating his Club did not intend to join this year. The Secretary of the N.Z. Cricket Council wrote stating ttey only accepted one association from each province as a branch, the idea being to induce country unions to affiliate with the principal associations. Resolved, That in Rule I. the word 11 Rangitikei "be eliminated. This alteration makes the name of the association 11 Manawatu Cricket Union." The proposal to charge clubs playing foreign matches in Feilding a fee for the nse of the gronnd was held over till next meeting, and notice of motion was given, That all foreign teams playing on the Feilding ground pay 10s 6d (5s 3d each club) to the Feilding Club towards keeping the ground in order. Resolved, That each club in the association be requested to register its colors. Resolved, That the attention of clubs be drawn to rules 9 and 10. Resolved, That the election of a match committee be held over till next meeting. i The meeting terminated with a vote | thanks to the Chairman.
