THE V.R.C. MEETING.

St. Hippo was on Monday struck out of the Prince of Wales' Handicap, to be rnn at the Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting. Irish Twist is said to have gone amiss, and this explains the absence of the son of Ingomar's name from the list of acceptances for the New Zealand Cup. Carbine claimed another winning representative in Australia recently. This was Cartridge, a three-year-old, who won ' the Farm Stakes at the Warwick Farm Meeting on the 12th inst. Cartridge is owned by Mr D. O'Brien. Carnage would appear to have gone amiss, for, in addition to the son of Nordenfeldt being missing from the list of entrants for the various weight for age events to be run at the forthcoming V.R.C. Spring Meeting, he has been withdrawn for the Melbourne Cup. A rumour is current that Mahaki is a non-starter for the New Zealand Cup, but such statement lacks confirmation at present as regards the Press Association. (Per Press Association.)
