Russia in the East.
(Per Press Association). St. Petersburg, Oct. 26. Russia has ordered her Pacific squadron to Corea to prepare for any emergency that may arise. The Rurik and other warships are under orders to join the fleet forthwith. Tokio, October 25. The Japanese popular feeling is ■trongly in favour of Russian alliance. Japan has satisfied the treaty and will withdraw from Liatong in three months. London, October 25. The Times 1 Hongkong correspondent declares that the treaty with China granted tho Russian fleet anchorage at at Port Arthur, and a right to construct and manage railways connecting Port Arthur with Vladivostock, via Tesitkihar, and other commercial advantages outside the most favoured nation in the clause, but reserves the right to purchase such railways after 20 years, at a price not fixed.
