A SYDNEY TRAGEDY. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, October 25. The girl Martha Hayne who was shot by her discarded lover, is dead. After committing the deed Brown returned to his tent, 7 miles away. When he saw the police approaching to arrest him he blew his brains out. Adelaide, October 25 The drought is driving the rabbits to the township of Cockburn, 240 miles north-east of here, which swarms with the pest. Thousands are dying in the streets, and the air and water supplies are polluted with the rotting carcases. Men are continually engaged in carting away carcases. Melbourne, Oct. 25. Lord Brassey officially landed at Willianißtown at noon. The Sunbeam was escorted up the bay by a large fleet of yachts. An immense and enthusiastic crowd welcomed the New Governor.
