Insurance Rates.
(Per Press Association.) Invercargili., Oct. 17. The effect of the recent conference of fire insurance companies in Melbourne has been to largely increase the rates of premiums here. As the town has an excellent water service, there is some indignation upon the subject, and at a meeting of citizens to-night a resolution was passed in favonr of municipal insurance.
