The Keen Demand for Land.
♦ (Per Press Association.) Napieb, October 17. The old Provincial Council Chambers were crowded with country settlers today, eager to secure sections in the Wai,kopiro Block of 10,000 acres, near Ormondvillfi, just thrown open for selection. The Commissioner of Crown Lands states that the rush of applicants for this land is unprecedented. There are no less than 1042 applications for 49 rural sections, and 28 for la village sections:
