The Madagascar Campaign.

FALL OF THE CAPITAL. (Per Press Association.) Paris, October 11, News from Madagascar states that a brilliant action preceded the capture of the capital, and that on Tuesdey the terms of peace will be arranged, subject to ratification by France. General Metzinger has been appointed Governor of Antananarivo. The President has cabled the thanks of France to the army. Later. The French will allow the Queen of Madagascar to retain her throne, but they will depose and probably banish the Premier and establish a stringent protectorate ensuring their exclusive influence in the country. A strong garrison will remain in the capital, and the coast will be guarded by black troops. The French are now returning. General Duchesne will receive the cross of the Legion of Honor.
