Wallace is installed first favorite for the V.R.C. Derby, and is now quoted at 4 tol. The next payment for the New Zealand Cup is due on October 18th. In Wellington 100 to 10 has been accepted about the Ingoraar gelding Irish Twist for the New Zealand Cup. Reports from Christchurch state that it is rumoured that all is not right with Skirmisher, although he is credited with having performed a first-class gallop on Saturday last. Mahaki is to be shipped to Christchurch after the Napier Park Meeting to fulfil his New Zealand Cup engaeement.
