| Per Press Association | Napieb, October 10. The Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show opeped to-day. There was only one exhibitoic in merinos. In Lincolns Mr Tanner took both champions, the minor honors being divided between Messrs Ormond and J. N. Williams. Locally bred sheep generally beat imported stock, bat the sheep bred by Hon. W. Holmes and Mr. F. , Sutton secured prizes. Border Leicesters were in force, Mr W. Nelson securing both championships, one with an animal bred by Mr J. Reid, Mr W. Holmes' stock being also successful, The English championships both fell to Mr Tanner with imported sheep, the ram being champion at the Royal Agricultural Show at Chester in 1893. Mr H. Overton's stock were very successful. Romneys were very numerous, the chief honors being divided between Messrs R. Harding and F. Hutchison with locally bred sheep. Shropshires were very poorly represented. A great feature of the show was the large number of pens of twenty shrap competing for the prizes 1 for most profitable cross, both carcase and wool being valued. The decision will be given to-morrow. The champion prize for thoroughbred entires fell to Hon. J. D. Ormond's Dreadnought, and the champion draught to Archdeacon Williams' Eimberley. The exhibits of machinery are numerous, all the wellknown' colonial - manufacturers being well represented.
