There is a disposition evinced to back Royal Rose, but offers of 100 to 3 are declined ; 1500 to 150, Monastery ; 3000 to 120, Ayrshire ; 1500 to 60 Havoc ; 2000 to 60, Mischief, have been taken. Altogether 5000 have been secured about Rewi for the Melbourne Cup down to 100 to 6 ; 1000 to 20 Osculator was takeu. Coolalto, Thespian, and Astronomer have been scratched for the Caulfield Cup. Hopscotch is hardening for the Caulfield Cup, and 6 to 1 is the best offer against Mr Long's gelding. Panoply was scratched for the Caulfield Cup, and My Lady and Denby for the Melbourne Cup. The following are theifirstacceptances for the Toorak Handicap — Earl King, Solanuin, J5, Mostyn, Foxtail, Ascotvale.
