f Messrs Lowes and lorns report on ■ their stock sale at Masterton last Tuesday : — Sheep were in average numbers , and the quality in some lines exception- : ally good. In cattle we bad a full entry 7 all classes being represented. Yonng r stock were in good demand, all selling , at increased rates. In dairy stock a \ good number offered, all useful sorts selling freely, but poor and aged cows ' were neglected. Some fine ox beef caused spirited bidding, making 20s per lOOlbs. Of an entry of 50 pigs we quitted over 40, the demand being for stores ! \ and porkers. Fat shorn ewes made 7s 3d to 7s 4d ; forward do, 6s 6d ; stores 5s 3d to 6s ; wethers in the wool, lls 7d ; ; ewes lls 2d ; best hoggets, 9s 6d to 10s; { medium, 7s to 8s lid. Fat bullocks, heavy, £1 12s 6d to £7 19s ; light, 46 10s to £5 12s 6d ; 2-year steers, 70s ; ' 18-months, 60s : mixed young cattle 555 ; yearlings, 35s to 40s ; calves, 27s 3d ; \ medium, 20s ; small, 15s ; dairy cows, [ £5 12s 6d ; medium 60s ; heifers, 90s. i . Pigs: porkers 19s to 20s ; stores, 10s to ; 16s ; large sows, 21s to 355 ; weaners 6s to7s6d.
