(Per Press Association). Sydney, Oct. 3. The Assembly has been sitting continuously since 4 o'clock yesterday discussing the Estimates, and the Government intend to finish them before rising. Tlie business is being pushed on with a view to early prorogation. The Council is debating the second reading of the Loan Bill. Sir Julian Salomons, who bas hitherto beeu a very strong opponent of the Government's proposals, supported the bill, saying the time had come when the Council should cease its opposition to the Government. Hobart, Oct. 3. Arrived— Rimutaka. The Hon. E. Cavendish and General Booth are amoDg tho passengers. This Day. General Booth and his staff go on to New Zealand by the Rimutaka. Adelaide This Day. In Committee in the Legislative Assembly on the State Advances to Settlers Bill, the Premier sought to introduce a clause appointing a Stale Bank to do /he work of advancing. The Chairman held the amendment irrelevant, and took lime to consider the point
