Wellington Stock, Wool and Produce Market.
A. G. Taine and Co. report on the above up to 27th September :—Fat sheep—Prime wethers, 15s to 16s for heavyweights; ewes, 12s to 14s. Eat cattle—Beef is on the rise and has moved up, bullocks selling at 21s per 1001b; cows, 17s to 18s per 1001b. Store cattle-The demand is principally tor growing cattle at last week's quotations. Dairy cattie are quiet, except for anything special. Pigs are now selling freely ; slips, 7s to 9s; porkers, 20s to 22s 6d; baconers, 35s to 455. Horses - Any good sorts coming forward early, botli draughts and harness, will meet with a ready sale. Our sales privately and by auction have been medium draught geldings, £15 and Jl2 and £9 10s; all Led harness horses £1 to £10. Sheep-skins-Prices well maintained to gidfor bestfull-wooled; 3d to 3£d for medium sorts; green skins 5s to 6s for best; 4s to 6s for medium. Hides-A little easier, 20s being top price for bullocks. Wool-Market 15 per cent rise at opening sales m London has made a Btrong demand here, and buyers are open to purchase largely at our local sales.
