The Sensational Dean Case.
FUETHEK PARTICULABS. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, Sept. 29. Mr Meagher, interviewed, said Sir J. Salomons' statements were utterly and absolutely without foundation. He does not regard them as serious, but the machinations of a crafty and disordered brain— the only alternative of stating that Salomons concocted the confession. He says he was to find him not guilty on the grounds of insanity. Dean, Meagher says, never made any confession, and maintained his innocence throughout. Mr Meagher says he firmly believes in Dean's innoceuce. ' - Salomons had booked his passage to Melbourne, but has now decided to stay, pending Mr Meagher's statement to the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, and Bhould he think it necessary, will reply to the Council. Mr Meagher hints that there will be some peculiar revelations when he talks.
