» (prom our own correspondent.) Tbe ratepayers in Connty are invited to attend a meeting here on Saturday, sth October, at 2 p.m., to consider county matters and to take steps to form a Ratepayers' Association for tbe protection of their interests. Notices calling the meeting, and signed by several influential ratepayers, are placarded about the district, and those who have their own interests at heart sbonld roll up to the meeting. The Pohangina river has shifted away from the township and now runs in a course several chains to tbe east. A large number of Feilding vocalists and musicians have promised to assist at the concert and dance here on the 4th October, in aid of tbe ball funds. We open our cricket season on Saturday, sth October, at 3 p.m. Intending members should roll up then and haud in their names. .
