» (Per i J resß Association). Auckland, Tbis Day. The Waitekauri Company obtained L 740 worth of gold from 129 tons. Some tailings at the Koniata mine were treated with cyanide and yielded LIOBS. Both are considered excellent returns. The first claim of 30 acres has been pegged out at Kaimas by Jas. Hughes and party. Another claim, three miles from the first, was pegged out to-day on a good looking quartz reef. It is stated that Tilsley has found a 30ft reef at Tepuke, carrying gold. Small specimens have been found by a Native at the head of the Waipawa river, and two prospectors have gone out.
