Abraham and WilliamtT report : — Bad weather prevented the fall complement of entries coming forward to Colyton on Tuesday. About half the entry was penned. Notwithstanding the bleakness prevailing, buyers were in keen competition for sheep, bidding under the hammer being of the briskest nature throughont, and all lots were cleared. Hoggets made 7a, 7s 6d, Bs, 8s Bd, 9s 3d ; fat ewea mado lls to 12s Id : store wethers, lOd ; springing heifers, £3 10s ; store wethers, £2 17s to £3 ; yearlings, 32s to 365; 18.mon£h io 2-yr cattlei £% la. 4{f Palmerston yesterday cattle masfefed in full numbers : young stock though numerous, were dull under the hammer, the bulk being disposed of privately. Beef was in good demand and firm at quotations. The fat cows were heavy weights and prime quality. Of the cat* tic under offer store steers were the most difficult to quit, a portion only being sold. Shorn fat sheep made their first appearance for the season — buyers were somewhat shy, a portion only being sold other sorts sold irregularly and generally a dropping tone prevailed ; good hoggets improved in price.
