Campbelltown Dairy Factory.

The half-yearly meeting of shareholders of the above was held last evening, to hear report and balance-sheet and to elect an auditor. Mr Ransom, Managing Director, presided. Mr Ransom, in addiessing the meeting, said he was glad to say that, after paying all expenses, they had a credit balance, which would be carried forward, and that he hoped they wonld be still better off at the end of the next halfyear. He said tbat they bad received several unsolicited testimonials praising the quality of the butter, and he was pleased to say that the looal trade was growing. In fact, for the past few months they oould hardly meet the requirements. He pointed ont that, although it was unpleasant to have a lot of cows to milk in the winter, they mnst study the question, as they mnst endeavor to keep np the local supply or it would fall through, and that wonld be a loss, as the local supply paid better tban exporting it. He said that a new engine had been purchased, as the old one was rather small, and was now working at its highest pressure to meet the work. They bad made a few alterations and a few more were necessary to lower the temperature of the factory, and he hoped they would agree with him with what had been donp. Burgess, the sum of £10 was voted to Mr S. Knight for his services as Secretary dnring the past term. Mr C. Anderson proposed, and Mr W. Richmond seconded, That Mr 6. J. Scott, of Paimerston North, be appointed auditor. A number of minor details were also discussed.
