The ship Borrowdal:, Captain Boldcrston, which has arrived here after a passage of 99 days from New York, encountered a succession of heavy gales in crossing the Southern Ocean. On August 10th she shipped a heavy sea,, which carried away the stanchions off the starboard bulwarks, a boat's skids, the whole starboard side and two-thirds of the fore part of the after-house. The second officer, who was caught by this sea, was injured.
