Feilding Cycling Club.
♦ A meeting of members of the Feilding Cycling Club was held in the Club-room last evening, the attendance being fair, considering the unfavorable state of the weather. Letters were received from Messrs E. Mills, G. Eirton, and W. A. L. Bailey, accepting the position of vice* presidents, and from the latter enclosing a guinea. — It was resolved that a vote of thanks be accorded to Mr Bailey for his donation and acceptance of a vicepresidency; also, to Messrs Kirton and Mills for accepting the same position. '" Messrs C. A. J, I.evett,'A. J." Gould, and C. H. Hosting were elected members of the club. It was decided to hold the opening run to Awahuri to-morrow afternoon (25th instant), providing the weather is favorable. It was resolved to hold a road race on Wednesday, October 2nd, the coarse to be from North street where it crosses the Makino road to Manchester Square, a distance of about a mile. Nominations to close at 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 23th ; and that the entrance fee be 2s 6d. The race to start at 4.30 p.m. Besolved, That the Secretary arrange for a handicap for this race. Mr G-. W. Fowles presented the Club with a handsome silver medal for the first race and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to him for bis gift. Besolved, That the annual race meeting be held on January 22nd ; and tha'ij | the secretary write to the secretaries of the Palmerston and Bangitikei Clubs informing them of the same. It was reported that the racing track on the Oval was being rolled and soil put on the worst places in readiness for the coming season, and that the traci^ would be in better order than last yea?.
