♦ • A meeting of the stewards of the Wellington .Racing Club was held yesterday, Mr H. D. Bell (president) in the chair. On the recommendation of the Programme Committee the dates of the several race meetings for the ensuing season were fixed as follows : — Spring Meeting, Wednesday and Friday, November 20th and 24th ; Summer, Wednesday, January 22nd (Anniversary Day) and Friday, January 'i4th ; and the Autumn and Steeplechase Meeting (combined), Wednesday and Friday, April 29th and May Ist ; the added money for the three meetings being £965, £1955 and .£1320 respectively, an increase of .£205 on last year's stakes.

The sale of racehorses was not very successful. The Dancer realised 31 guineas, Fright 7 guineas, Tire and Ballinger, both belonging to S. H. Gollan, were both passed in at 250 and 200 guineas respectively. Melbourne, Sept. 23. Aquarius has been scratched for the Cauliield Cup. Auckland, Sept. 23. At the annual meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club, the report stated the net profit was fixed, the receipts being £3088 and expenditure .£2660.
