Live Cattle Trade.
(Pee Press Association.) London, September 16. Experts consider the cattle brought by tbe Southern Cross second rate, and tbe sheep rough and poor. Ten bullocks weighing 7501 b each, were sold for £17. Mr Bergyl declined £19 10s for 20 of the best bullocks, asking £21. The sheep were all sold at an average of 22s 6d. Tbe Urmston Grange, now on the voyage from Sydney to England with live cattle, lost 14 bullocks before she reached Buenos Ayres. September 17. Bergyl refuses to believe that the prices realised for cattle is ft true test of the market. About 300 sold at about £17 per head. He expresses his disgust at the low price, and complains bitterly at the quality of the fodder supplied. Half of it, he says, was rotten, and is satisfied cattle can be carried successfuly if good tood is provided. He also complains that the N.S.W. Govt have no facility for the shipment of beasts, consequently many are injured. He threatens to abandon the Australian trade, and enbark in the American. Another horse has died, but tbe rest are thriving at Thames Haven.
