A Solicitor in Trouble.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington. Sept 17. John McDavitt was arrested on information contained in a telegram from Stratford. Accused was charged with having fabricated evidence at Stratford with the intention of misleading the Bankruptcy Court sitting at Hawera. McDavifct was the solicitor who acted in the Bankruptcy Court for the three tucu Farrell, O'Kelly, and Cowen, who were on Saturday convicted of conspiring to defraud their creditors, and were sentenced to three years' imprisonment. McDavitt was remanded till Wednesday morning. This Day. McDavitt, solicitor, arrested and j charged with working up the evidence in favor of three clients with a view of misleading the Bankruptcy Court at Hawera, has been remanded for medical examination.
