WOMAN'S FRANCHISE IN N.S.W. (Per Press Association.) Adelaide, Sept. 12. At a meeting of the Hospital Board, Dr Perks, medical superintendent, submitted his resignation, consequent on the difficulty with the Government. The decision of the Government with regard to Nurse Graham was considered by the members, who were highly indignant at what was termed to be a threat to remove them from office at the earliest opportunity. Melbourne, September 14 An old couple named Lane were burned to death in a cottage at Easternwick. James Mirams, ex-member of the Assembly, began action against the Argus, claiming £10,000 for libel in connection with his candidature at South Yarra election.
