A SCENE IN THE HOUSE. (Per Press Association.) Melbourne, Sept 12. The Customs duties' debate ia responsible for a scene. Mr Aggley moved an adjournment and that the Speaker leave the chair. The noes claimed that they had a majority, and leaving their seats surrounded the table and tried to prevent the Government supporters from leaving. A hot and angry wrangle ensued for a quarter of an hour before the House was cleared. This Day. After the scene in the Assembly the Opposition held a meeting, and strongly condemned the Speaker's action. It was decided to take steps to test the validity of the Procedure.
