o— The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, in their report dated July 26tb, state : — New Zealand Mutton —There are no arrivals to report. The Doric finished ber discharge on Monday, tbe broken weather at the end of last week much interfering with the work and preventing the cpntemplated prompt discharge. Stocks are in quite manageable compass and not much distributed amongst many consignees, afloats are known to be light, and shortness of future consignments generally believed in, all tending to improvement in prices. The best Canterburys now only command 3jd per lb ; prime Dun^dins, really better value, bnt without the prestige of the Canterbury brand, are worth 3_d per lb ; Southlands and good North Islanders, tbe same ; ewes, flushed or old, about 2^d per lb, or _d less than Australians. New Zealand Lamb— Last week's report is again applicable ; large hunlb.rs are got through without muoh apparent demand. Tho primest Canterbury lambs of nice size, plump, and of good quality, are worth 4 _d per lb ; Dunedins, Southlands, aud best North Is- | land, 4_d per lb; but consignments generally are very mixed in size, and large lambs of 481bs to 601bs, very many of which are being marketed, are rejected by buyers, and have to be sold at mutton value, ° ' • -' " ' ' '
