A Diabolical Outrage.
ANARCHISTS AGAIN AT WORK. DARING ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP A BANK. (Per Press Association). Paris, September 5. An Anarchist carrying a bomb attempted to light the fuse inside Rothschild's Bank. A detective who observed him immediately seized the man, and in the struggle the fuse was fortunatly extinguished. September 6. Shortly before closing the bank the police saw a man enter the building, concealing something under bis coat, and followed him. On reaching the staircase leading to the first storey the man was caught trying to light a fuse at the end of a cigarette. Upon seeing the police he threw the bomb violently on to the floor, but the thick carpet prevented an, explosion. The wonld-be assassin then, rushed into the street, but, finding it impossible to escape, drew a razor and tried to cut the policeman's throat. The latter drew his sword and held the Anarchist at bay while a second gendarme seized him.
