A Terrific Gale.

[Per Press Association.] Sydney, Sept. 4. The greatest storm on record in the Gambulla District was experienced yesterday. The residents fearing their houses would be demolished fled to the fields. Nearly all the houses were unroofed, and numerous verandahs were torn away bodily, and many of the structures in town, which were none too substantial, came down.
