Disastrous Bush Fires.

GREAT DESTRUCTION OF STOCK (Per Press Association). Sydney, September 2. For 87 miles north of Dungog the country has been swept by bush fires, and 400 head of cattle had to be killed to save them from starvation. The loss in grass crops and fencing is enormous. In tbe Gloucester district a mob of 150 cattle was surrounded by fires and burned to death. The drover had to take refuge in a river to escape a similar fate. Six shops were destroyed by fire at Cobar. _^_____^_____^_
