(Per Press Association.) Wellington, This Day. The Referee in the Auckland, Canter* bury and Taranaki matches has report* ed to the N.Z. Union that he had to order Ronavne in the former match and Laing in the latter off the field. Laing for " foul play " in deliberately throwing forward, and Ronayne for repeated criticism of the referee's rulings, and impertinence when reprimanded for bis conduct. Both players will have to be dealt with the N.Z. Union. In reporting the men Mr Firth says — '* I should like to add that the conduct of the Taranaki men on the field was excellent, but some Auckland men behaved almost throughout the match in an unseemly manner."
