The Latest Sydney Horror.

ANOTHER JACK THE RIPPER. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. A case, the external appearance of which indicated ordinary merchandise, was found near a water frontage at Woolloomooloo, emitting a strong smell of carbolic acid and decomposing animal matter. The police opened it, and found the body of a young woman. The abdomen was cut open and sewn np again, apparently by a practised hand. The Government pathologist states the woman had evidently been delivered of a child. The operation is one made on rare oc casions where a natural accouchement is impossible. Tbe woman had apparently been dead between 20 and 30 hours. The body was jammed into the box, and firmJy fixed by battens. The theory is that some one, skilled in anatomy, with' out being a regularly qualified surgeon, did the deed. The woman died, and the operator, frightened, took this means to get rid of the body. It was evidently intended to throw the body into the water, but the high gates barred the way, and the body was left in an unfrequented part of the street. A woman in the neighbourhood saw a buggy drive up and a box taken out, apparently by several men, who then drove off. The body was clothed in a night-dress of expensive material.
