MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS POSTPONED.
At a meeting of the shareholders of tbe Bank held this afternoon, the Chairman moved that tbe meeting adjourn until Friday, Sept 6th, at 3 p.m., when the Directors propose to enter exhaustively into the whole position of tbe Bank.

SSallance Liberal Association passed a resStrk&on to-night to be telegraphed to the Premier congratulating the Government on the prompt, firm and statesmanlike manner in which tbey had dealt with the fortunes of the Bank of New Zealand, and trusting that the recommendation of the committee will be approved of by tho House. Mr H. JB. Hallensfcien, speaking at the Christchurch Exhibition, said the fact that Parliament was tbat day legislating to put the Bank of New Zealand ou a sounder footing would give New Zealand a stability not enjoyed for many years.
