DESECRATION OF GRAVES.
' TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. S|ij, — Jt seems a great shame that the J officials of the Oernetery Board should ! j allow such carelessness as they do at the \ Cemetery. When horsemen attend | funerals they let their horses go any--1 where, loose, which do a lot of damage 1 to the graves, and destroy shrubs and ' flowers, to the detriment of those who 1 are careful and like to see the re- } membrance off those interred therein ' kept sacred. It would cost very little to fence of a portion as a small paddock in which horsemen could put their animals whilst attending at the grave side, and I feel certain that if a notice was ' was put up to warn horsemen, this sort • of thing would not happen. Trusting • this lamentable carelessness will be put • a stop to, I am, etc., «• One Who Has" a Child There.': Feilding, August 29th, 1895,
