Fires at Palmerston North.
The enquiry into last Sunday morning's fire will be held this morning. De. tective Robert Neill is at present in Pal. merston in connection with the recent fires which have occurred here. The necessity for stationing a detective permanently at Palmerston North is again urged upon the attention of the Department. — Standard.
