Steamer Rome on Fire.

CARGO GREATLY DAMAGED. (Per Press Association.) London, August 29 When the P. aud O. Co.'s steamer Rome was 800 miles. from t-he Australian coast the charcoal insulator in the refrigerating room was found to boon fire. Nine hundred sheep had to bo taken out before the fire could be extinguished. There was no panic on board. It is believed the charcoal was on fire before the steamer left Sydney. The engineer reports that a portion of the butter cargo was damaged. :
