(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Aiiau.--L 24. At the inquest on Charles Ciea!, licensee of the Park Hotel, who committed suicide, a, verdict of temporary insanity was returned. One juryman held out for felo de se. The August meeting of the Coursing Club was held to-day at. Avontlale. There was a large attendance. Only three hares were killed. The final stakes was won by Robin, Black Cap second. The champion stakes was won by Acushln, Dora B second. The former gets a silver collar with the stakes. The Rearing Stakes was won by Madame Patti, Mascotte second. The Supplementary Stakes was won by White hind, Ascot being with drawn A telegram re Waihi South has been posted en the Exchange. A distinct proposal has been made to purchase the Waihi South. The proposal has not yet been considered by the Directors. It is understood that a cable message has been received here stating that the Waihi South Goldmining Company has been floated in London in 140,000 shares at £1 each. Wellington, August 25. The Gothic from London via way ports arrived at 5 o'clock to-night, but as yet has not cleared and therefore there is no communication with her. This Day. A Pole named Martin Patroz, 75 years of age, committed suicide at Stratford on Saturday by hanging himself.
