Heavy Earthquakes.

[ Per Press Association ! Wellington, August 20. A. telegram from Tarawera, 'in.oj 2.50 p.m.. states that another s-!i;u -, i ; shock of earthquake accursed i !. i^c ac 2 30 to-day. A telegram from Tau ; >\ li.ic. '■'> 1 p.m., states that there w.i, another very severe shock at 2 30 p.m. It is reported that a great fumcrole has broken out behind Tauhata. A party haa gone out to see. This Day. The Postmaster at Taupo wires the party could uot liud the new fumcrole reported to have broken out behind Taubara. Two sharp shocks of earthquake were felt there last night, but no further damage is reported. At Tarawera there were also two sharp .shocks one at 1 p.m. Aiid tive other at 1.2J this morning. All the bills around the south of Tarawera arc capped with snow this morn- i ing. ' Napikk This Day. There was a sharp shock of earthquake at Napier at 1.40 this morning. The earthquake this morning roused the people from sleep. The earthquakewas also felt at Woodville. Wau'awa, This Day. A severe shock of earthquake, the heaviest since LSGo, was felt at 1.40 this morning. Chimneys were cracked aud glass and crockery were broken. There was a roaring sound after the earthquake.
