The Chemis Case.
(Per Press Association). Wellington, August IS. Mrs Cbemis appeals to the public for funds to assist her husband in getting a new trial. Mr Jellicoe is to move the application, and she says as that gentleman has in the pa.sfc uot only fjiyen his services gratuitously but spent sonic hundreds of pounds out of his own pocket, she cannot ask him to take the matter in hand without being able in some manner to indemnify him for his exertions.
