Messrs Abraham and Williams report : On Saturday a small entry of hacks came forward, the bulk were inferior sorts. Some useful draughts came under the hammer, but were without enquiry. The sale throughout was lifeless. Medium hacks, L 4 10s to L 5 : screws and weeds 10s to 20s. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 18. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report that at the Kemuera yards on Tuesday dairy cattle at profit were in demand at improved values ; store cattle were fairly represented ; grown cows were in fair enquiry : weaned calves and yearlings at lower prices ; fat and young calves in less number than usual were ' of better worth than last sale. Fat cattle were in full number and 232 were yarded and sold freely ; steers were at Ll and LI Is, and cows at 18s per 100 lb. Sheep were in average supply, and 1200 were yarded, mostly wethers of excellent quality, and were in better enquiry and advanced slightly on last i week's prices. Pigs were in moderate i supply, and 40 sold at au ad van ;s of j last week.
