HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
FINANCIAL DEBATE. The House met at 2.30. Mr McNab resumed the financial debate. He did not approve of the operations under the Consols Act of last session. He warmly praised the administration of the Agricultural Department, aud thought much friction would have been avoided if the Advances to Settlers Act had not come into operation till after 31st March Mr McGuiro condemned the Budget as a most misleading and fictitious one. The policy of the Government had stopped enterprise aud robbed the people of their self-reliance. The House resumed at 7.30 when Messrs Tanner, Button, Larnach and other 1 "} continued the debate on tho Budget. Messrs Bell, Maslin, Hall-Jones, also spoke. The debate was adjourned. The House rose at 12.30.
