N.S.W. Parliament.
SCENE IN THE HOUSE. (Per Press Association.) Sydney. This Day. The Address-in Reply was carried on the voices in both Houses. In the Council the Government representative contended the question of land taxation exemptions were never submitted to the country. Mr Creed said to propose the reform of the Council would render it absolutely powerless for g°°tli and he would rather vote for its entire abolition, and hold the Assembly responsible for the whole of the legislation. In the Assembly Mr Crick charged the Premier with allowing his colleagues, for political purposes, to vote against the introduction of Eddy's Salary Increase Bill. Mr Reid retorted it was a false and infamous statement. The Minister of Mines hotly interrupted, bub the Speaker iuterposed, and said unless the Minister ceased to interrupt and set a bad example to the House and ceased to defy him, he would leave the House and resign. Mr Reid explained he did not introduce the Eddy Bill at the Commissioner's own request.
